Why Pay More For Less?
KNOW YOUR COST PER CUBIC YARD!
All Junk removal companies quote by the load size e.g. ¼ load, ½ load full load etc. But not all junk companies use the same size trucks. That means a load size price quote from one company can be less volume or higher cost than another company.

To explain further, let’s say you’re quoted a ½ load price of $309 by two different companies. We’ll use 1-800 RID-OF-IT trucks in the first example, which measure 10 ft. long x 8 ft. wide x 6 ft. high. Using our cubic yard calculator we can see our trucks total 17.8 cubic yards (8.9 for a ½ load). Now let’s say Company B trucks measure 10 x 8 x 5 for a total of 14.8 cubic yards (7.4 for a ½ load).
Well first of all, this means that less of your junk will fit into Company B’s truck for the quoted ½ load price of $309. But it also means that 1-800 Rid-Of-It delivers a cost per cubic yard of $34.72 ($309 divided by 8.9 cubic yards) vs. Company B’s cost per cubic yard of $41.76 ($309 divided by 7.4 cubic yards).
BIGGER DOES NOT MEAN BETTER DEALS
In the example above the bigger truck delivered better value. But bigger does not always mean better. For example, an 11 x 8 x 6 truck totals 19.6 cubic yards (9.8 for a ½ load). But if the ½ load price is $350 then the cost per cubic yard is $35.71, a full dollar more than the 1-800 Rid-Of-It price.
