TORONTO - PLEASE DONATE GENTLY USED HOUSEHOLD ITEMS & FURNITURE FOR OUR HOUSEWARMING DRIVE
This coming Wednesday and Thursday (July 22nd and 23rd, 2009), 1-800-RID-OF-IT Junk Removal Toronto will pick up your gently used but no longer wanted furniture, free of charge, and deliver it to local families in need. We are available to pick up your items for donation, free of charge, in West Toronto and North York.
We have partnered with the Furniture Bank, a front line agency that provides furniture to people who have been homeless and are now being re-homed in affordable housing.
TORONTO’S BIGGEST HOUSEWARMING!
Our goal is to furnish three homes for those most in need in Toronto during a time when the economy and ongoing lack of affordable housing are translating into heightened demand, especially from families with children. But, to do this, we need your help - we need your unwanted household items and furniture.
For more information, call 1-800-743-6348
WHO ARE WE HELPING?
We help those that need it the most. Most recipients of the furniture bank are woman and children coming from battered homes, refugees and people moving off the street. Most times these people have little more than the clothes on their backs. With your help, we can turn housing into homes.
CAN YOU HELP?
Items that are most helpful to these local families in need are:
- kitchen sets - tables and chairs
- sofas / couches (no four seater couches)
- easy chairs
- dressers
- night stands
- coffee tables
- desks and desk chairs
- TV stand
- bookcases
- small appliances like microwave ovens and toaster ovens
- rugs and other household and kitchen items
- beds (not king size, or steel springed or foldaway)
- futons (they need to have frame)
- shelving units
All items must be gently used or in excellent quality. If you have any of these items that you are no longer using, it's time to put them to good use - local families could really use them.
Just call 1-800-Rid-Of-It Junk Removal and a team will arrive to pick-up the used furniture on either Wednesday July 22nd or Thursday July 23rd.
WE WILL PICK UP YOUR ITEMS FOR DONATION FREE OF CHARGE!
